Internal Communications Quote #4: Intranets
My belief is employees come to an intranet for information that they need do their jobs but whether they choose to stay depends on whether they have the ability to engage in peer-to-peer conversations and knowledge sharing with other employees.
Digital technologies are allowing knowledge to flow and collaboration to grow. Intranet platforms, such as Igloo, and enterprise social networks likeYammer and Salesforce Chatter, are facilitating peer-to-peer conversations and engaging employee audiences. Organizations that are embracing these technologies are discovering great reservoirs of employee knowledge.

I’ll be talking more about this and other intranet concepts with my fabulously talented co-presenter Kris Pugsley of ON Semiconductor at the upcoming ALI 7th Annual Intranet and Digital Workplace Summit being held in San Francisco June 20-22. I’ll also be doing a book signing for Maximizing Internal Communication following my session. Want to attend and save money? You can use this special offer code: SPK0617 to get a $500 discount.
